Ep 007 The Power of Encouragement with Sue Hewitt

“We don’t realize the difference that encouragement makes.”  Sue helped develop and now leads Upworks, a ministry in St. Paul Minnesota whose mission is “Celebrating and developing each person’s God-given potential to contribute to our world.”

Listening to Sue, it is evident how she has been encouraged along the way and each experience in her life built upon another that prepared her for the work she is leading today.  Upworks utilizes a network of Life Advocates, business partners and nonprofit partners to guide, support and seek to ultimately place clients in jobs that are sustainable and above the poverty level.

There were some major bumps along the way, however Sue points to God’s grace and faithful nurture through the words of Scripture that provided fresh perspective each time it was needed throughout her life.  Being open to God’s leading and willing to take the steps of faith necessary to embrace each new opportunity, has resulted in many people being blessed and giving honor to the Lord.

I invite you to listen in on my conversation with Sue Hewitt and hear how the power of encouragement is evident through the successes and failures in her journey. Today, Sue’s passion is empowering and encouraging others. Through her story, I hope you are inspired to walk alongside another. Imagine the difference that can be made if every person had a champion encourager at their side!
